HIS 101 - Western Civilization: From Antiquity to 1500 This course surveys the social, cultural and political development of western Europe from the ancient Mediterranean world to the dawn of Modern Europe. This course covers the ancient civilizations of Babylonia and Egypt, Greece and Rome, and the collapse of the Roman Empire, the development of feudalism and conflicts between secular and ecclesiastical governments.
