Kansas City has many sports communication opportunities with women’s and men’s professional soccer, minor and major league baseball, football, women’s roller derby and multiple college teams. Additionally, organizations like The Greater Kansas City Sports Commission and Foundation and varied youth sports organizations create additional demand for sports communicators. This minor helps students develop skills in writing about, leading, and promoting sports and sports organizations.
