CIS627 - Sports Analytics This course is an interdisciplinary course focuses on the core concepts and application used in sports industry, including statistical analysis, data visualization, machine learning algorithms. Important topics will be covered such as player and team performance, result prediction, ranking analysis, and economics of sports. The course will to develop the students’ skills to understand sports data, interpret the results, and make data-driven informed decisions in a sports context. Students will work on a project by applying the analytical techniques using R and Python to real-world sports datasets, gaining practical experience to help coaches, analysts, and decision makers. Prerequisite(s): CIS 621 Lecture Hours: 3 Credits: 3
