EC309 - Economic Development A study of the principles of growth applied to developed countries, newly industrialized countries, and developing countries. Analysis begins with a discussion of the early gains from socialist collectivization and Latin American early gains due to import substitution. The development failure that led to the collapse of the USSR and the development failures in the current non-communist countries are analyzed. Prerequisite(s): EC141 and EC142 .
