NUR356 - Mental Health Nursing This combined theory and clinical course focuses on the care of patients who have mental health alterations across the lifespan. The theory component is organized around the major categories of behavioral health disorders. Using the nursing process as a framework, health promotion and disease management are addressed. Inclusion of evidence-based nursing practice and the focus on establishing and maintaining therapeutic nurse-patient relationships is included. Nursing care that promotes the dignity and unique needs of each individual are emphasized. Prerequisite(s): NUR280 , NUR352 , NUR320 , NUR338 , or permission from the Nursing Department Lecture Hours: 3 Lab Hours: 1 Credits: 4
