EDS358 - Reading and Writing in the Content Area Crosslisted: EDM 358 This course provides middle school and secondary teacher candidates with theory-based strategies to develop middle school and high school learners� engagement with literacy, with a focus on building literacy competencies in both discipline-specific and interdisciplinary contexts. Course activities will include critical examination, modeling, and practice with theory-based reaching and learning strategies that will scaffold the development of middle school and secondary school learners’ oral, written, visual, technological, and higher-order literacy competencies. Prerequisite: Admission to the School of Education. Recommend simultaneous enrollment with Field Experience I.
