The Applied Social Sciences degree provides students with skills to explain the world through rigorous, evidence-based social science. It offers conceptual foundations of social scientific approaches, a methodological understanding to design and carry out research, and the analytical skills to interpret, manipulate, and explain data. Application of concepts and methodologies allow deeper explanation and connection to real world issues. Designed with flexibility, students in this program can gain expertise in human behavior and the organization of society while also choosing topical areas that enhance prior experiences for specific career, or post-graduate focus. This degree prepares students for expertise for wide applicability of fields across business, governmental, social and public services with transferrable research and data analysis skills. Park University grants the Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Bachelor of Public Administration, Bachelor of Science in Education, Bachelor of Fine Arts, and the Bachelor of Music Degree upon completion of the following requirements: - Completion of a minimum of 120 semester hours with a cumulative 2.0 GPA (or higher dependent on major).
- A minor for Geography, B.S. and Information Systems, B.S. majors.
- Satisfaction of all requirements for a major.
- Completion of degree specific requirements.
- Completion of Liberal Education requirements.
- Completion of residency requirement, 30 hours of earned and graded (A, B, C, D) college hours at Park University. At least 15 of these 30 hours must be in the major.
- Submission of an Application for Graduation.
