The Health Science major offers students a comprehensive understanding of health and healthcare delivery. The Health Science program emphasizes interdisciplinary problem-solving for health challenges, the application of scientific methods to ensure impactful health programming tailored to specific communities, and the specific leadership skills required to create and manage health-related programs and organizations. Students will gain a broad exposure to the interdisciplinary nature of health, exploring sociological, economic, and psychological factors that impact both personal and population health. Within this bachelor’s degree, two distinct tracks allow students to tailor the program to their specific career goals. The Community Health track, aligned with the Community Health Education Specialist (CHES) certification, prepares students for careers in health departments and non-patient-facing roles within healthcare organizations, making it ideal for those interested in Public Health. Conversely, the Pre-Professional track is designed for students seeking to become allied health professionals. This track provides a strong foundation for Occupational Therapy or Medical Technology graduate studies.
