Park University is working to ensure student success during this unprecedented time. The following policies have been adjusted.
Academic Standing Policy-Spring 2020
Given the exceptional circumstances faced by students this semester due to the pandemic, Park University has decided to waive the academic probation/suspension policy for the Spring 2020 semester. The University will review the academic standing of all students following the Spring 2020 semester and will notify students whose academic performance would normally result in academic probation or suspension of their status. However, student records will not reflect a status of academic probation or suspension (unless the student is continuing on probation from the previous semester).
Extension of Course Withdrawal Policy
Effective April 20, 2020
Park University is extending its student course withdrawal period through the last day of the Spring/Spring II term, May 10, 2020. Students may withdraw from course/s and receive a “W” through the final day of the semester/term. Normally, for the transcript to reflect a “W” rather than a “WF,” students would have had to initiate the withdrawal within the first 2/3 of the term. A “W” on the transcript does not negatively impact a student’s GPA.
Pass/Fail Grade Conversion
Effective April 27, 2020
The grading scale for students registered in PS 407 Field Placement in Psychology , has been converted from a traditional letter grade to pass/fail. Students will receive a “P” or “F” on the transcript. The grade will not impact the student’s term or cumulative GPA. Students who pass the course will earn credit, based on the number of hours in which they are registered.
Summer 2020 Courses
Summer courses across the Park University network will be offered online. Courses that were scheduled at various locations have been converted to an online format. Converted courses will display on the Schedule of Classes (www.park.edu/courses) with an Instructional Method of “Online” (dates and times as TBA) but will continue to reflect the campus center/original location based on the section code and the campus designation, as in the example below.
Transfer Credit Policy
Park University will accept grades of “P” as proof of a USA grade equivalent of “C” or higher for courses completed during the spring 2020 and summer 2020 terms.
