EDC351 - Teaching Development of Language and Literacy in Early Childhood A study of language and literacy development in young children. Emphasis will be placed on the roles of teachers and families in facilitating reading, writing, speaking and listening in young children from birth through age 8. Students will implement activities with children in each of the following age spans: Infants or Toddlers (Community-based or Home-based program), Pre-primary (Head Start or Head Start like program), and Early Elementary (K-3, Public or Private school). Implementation of activities in each age group can take up to five hours. Prerequisite(s): Admission to the School of Education, EDC220 and EDC222 Lecture Hours: 3 Lab Hours: 0 Credits: 3 History: EDC340
