AR 491 - Interior Design Professional Practice


AR 491 Professional Practice is divided into three parts. Part I is a survey of the profession of interior design, including definition and history, and the aspects that make interior design a profession. In Part II, students are exposed to the range of career possibilities in interior design through personal exploration, speakers, readings and research. Students then evaluate career goals and prepare a resume and cover letter as tools to help achieve their goals. Part III is a study of the business of interior design, including business structure and internal organization, fee structures, and project management procedures of both residential and commercial interior and architectural design firms.
Prerequisite(s): AR 218  and AR 389
