EDC 372 - Infant and Toddler Practicum


A supervised field experience in an infant/ toddler setting that supports the integration of teacher knowledge, skills, and dispositions necessary for working with young children, birth through age 2, and their families. The student is required to be in the infant/toddler setting Early Childhood Education and Leadership Candidates will spend one day per week in the classroom during weeks 2-7. Early Childhood Certification and Teaching Young Children will spend two full days per week in the classroom during weeks 2-7. The practicum is scheduled through the Early Childhood Program. The student must earn at least a “B” in the practicum to continue in the program. Candidates seeking a degree in Early Childhood Education and Leadership shall take EDC 372 for a minimum of one credit hour. Candidates seeking a degree in Early Childhood Education Teaching Young Children OR Early Childhood Education Certification shall take EDC 372 for two credit hours.
Prerequisite(s): Admission to the School of Education.
