EDC 373 - Pre-primary Practicum


A supervised field experience in Pre-primary setting that supports the integration of teacher knowledge, skills, and dispositions necessary for working with young children, 3-5 years of age and their families. The student is required to be in the Pre-primary setting for 12 weeks. Early Childhood Education and Leadership candidates will spend a minimum of a half day per week in the setting. Early Childhood Certification Candidates and Teaching Young Children Candidates will spend a minimum of 1 full day per week in the setting. The candidate must earn at least a “B” in the practicum to continue in the program. Candidates seeking a degree in Early Childhood Education and Leadership shall take EDC 373 for a minimum of one credit hour. Candidates seeking a degree in Early Childhood Education Teaching Young Children OR Early Childhood Education Certification shall take EDC 373 for 2 credit hours.
Prerequisite(s): Admission to the School for Education.
Corequisite(s): Concurrent Enrollment in EDC 354 , EDC 355 , and EDC 363 .
