AR 393 - Lighting Fundamentals for Interior Design Students in AR 393 study the technical, aesthetic, and psychological aspects of lighting an interior environment. Students apply the principles of natural and artificial lighting design to a series of assignments that include exercises in calculating lighting level requirements, evaluating light sources and selecting luminaires. Students select and design lighting with an awareness of the environmental impact of their choices, and the effect that lighting has on health and well-being. Students will design and specify lighting for an interior design project completed in concurrent AR 389 - Commercial Interiors . Corequisite(s): AR 389 Lecture Hours: 3 Lab Hours: 0 Credits: 3
