MI 316 - Leadership and Problem Solving Provides the student with no prior military or cadet experience the ability to quickly learn essential cadet knowledge and skills necessary for successful performance of cadet tasks. Following an introduction to the principles of physical fitness and healthy lifestyles lessons will cover: the Leader Development Program, how to plan and conduct individual and small unit training, basic tactical principles, reasoning skills and the military specific application of these skills in the form of the Army’s troop leading procedures. The course concludes with a detailed examination of officership which culminates in a five-hour officership case study. Prerequisite(s): 6 credits in Military Science, and Department Chairperson approval and concurrent enrollment in MI 302 . Lecture Hours: 3 Lab Hours: 0 Credits: 3
