The International Center for Music fosters the artistic exchange between master teacher performers, renowned young musicians, and internationally famous musicians/teachers. This truly unique program prepares students for careers as professional soloists, chamber and orchestral musicians in a European apprenticeship style with personalized attention in a caring and supportive environment. Admission is limited to selected students who demonstrate the highest level of musical potential and a commitment to succeed. The education of emerging world-class musicians is at the philosophical core of the Center’s mission and the quality of that training crucial to great artistry. Music is an international language and enables all people to share in experiences that help shape their culture and values. By involving the highest caliber artists of our generation as educators, the International Center for Music enables our students and audiences to experience the wealth of musical literature that has impacted generations of our global society. The program makes available, to the entire campus, surrounding community, and Kansas City Metro area, concerts and recitals throughout the year as part of its annual performance series featuring students, faculty, and guest artist. The Bachelor of Music in Performance and the Undergraduate Certificate in Performance programs are designed for students studying applied piano, and orchestral strings, woodwinds, and brass. Park University grants the Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Bachelor of Public Administration, Bachelor of Science in Education, Bachelor of Fine Arts, and the Bachelor of Music Degree upon completion of the following requirements: - Completion of a minimum of 120 semester hours with a cumulative 2.0 GPA (or higher dependent on major).
- A minor for Geography, B.S. and Information Systems, B.S. majors.
- Satisfaction of all requirements for a major.
- Completion of degree specific requirements.
- Completion of Liberal Education requirements.
- Completion of residency requirement, 30 hours of earned and graded (A, B, C, D) college hours at Park University. At least 15 of these 30 hours must be in the major.
- Submission of an Application for Graduation.
